Hello, my name is Austyn Chalifour. I am 24 years old, and I have short term memory loss, and I have a rare seizure called Gelastic Seizures.
At the age of 2-3, my parents discovered something was seriously wrong. I was having laughing fits, about 750 a day, and they didn't know why. They took me doctor-to-doctor to try and solve the problem, and no doctor could come up with an explanation, until we went to the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor.
A medical student just happened to be studying what I have, and asked the doctor to do an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging), and that's where they found a tumor. There were ONLY two places in the world that knew how to do the surgery - an Australian Hospital or a hospital in Arizona.
Since my mom was fighting left and right with U of M, they ended up sending me and my mom in a private jet to Arizona to get the surgery done. Since then, I have still struggled with seizures and retaining what I learn.
Started learning how to code, building full-blown apps and websites. The beginning of a passion.
As I got older, it became harder to retain what I learned. Challenges mounted, but determination remained.
When ChatGPT came out, everything changed. I didn't need to memorize code anymore - AI became my coding partner.
Since 2022, I have been "Vibe Coding" software products, websites, and mobile apps. It has definitely changed my life in more ways than one.
I don't just tell AI what to build - I collaborate with it, bringing my vision and creativity while leveraging AI's capabilities. This approach has allowed me to overcome my memory challenges and build incredible products that make a real difference.
